Definately CC You spent enough there this week. Bit of a difference between £50 and £100. Where did you say you ordered the magazine from?

I gotta get a rifle soon. Its killing me. :cray: Ive got three foxes on a farm not 20 miles from me and they have proven very, very difficult with the HMR.

Got £300 saved so far and need a little win on the lottery or something. Just enough say for a new rifle and a mod. :) Got a scope and ammo, but no rifle

On the wildcat mod the rear bush will fit any size barrel, it has to be reamed to size, it is the internals that have to be changed to suit the calibre , in your case .243, if they have a bush in that will fit your barrel already, then it is a simple matter of swapping them over, bear this in mind pal, take your rifle with you to check for gauge when you pick it up

Palms sweating a little are they lol ? Have they got the bush at the rear of your moderator sized for your barrel yet?

Hi Charlie

Could you explain a bit more about this? It's mad, I've been shooting all my life, (well, since about 5yrs of age sorry) and you think you've pretty much got it all in your head. Then, I go and read what you have put up in a response to Celtic. I've never heard of this and, as I'm looking at purchasing a rifle and moderator shortly, this has got my attention.

Would be great if you could tell me, and apologies if I sound a bit dull.

Basically mate there are two types of moderator, end cans IE screw onto the end of the barrel, or over barrel types, the moderator slides over the barrel, for say 8 inches until the threads on the end of the barrel meet an internal screw thread you then screw up the moderator until tight.

At the rear of the moderator there is a plastic bush that fits tightly over your barrel to support the rear of what is a long moderator, and as barrels come in different sizes, like sporter, varmint etc, the rear bush must be reamed out to be a snug fit on your barrel, this is why most rifles fitted with an over barrel mod have a ring round the barrel where the bush fits, you can put tape round it to help avoid it, or as I do use grease, but you will still get a bit of a ring.

Got you Charlie. Now I feel dull :icon_redface:

Another thing I have heard regarding moderators is some of them need to be cleaned every so many shots. I have heard as little as 10 shots for some. Is this true or is it just a case for certain Mod's?
