Sfs Imp

Recommended Posts

picked up my new sfs imp yesterday. took it out for a mooch this morning. plinking a few branches and posts to find my range. saw a few bunnies in paddocks infront of my house where i have my permission. took aim on the first one. it was further than i had been plinking so gave it a few mill dots. ..and missed. I saw the grass just past the rabbit mive where the pellet had gone. i had given it to much.

the bunnies around here are not mugs so i thought thatd be my chance gone. i know there is another warren in the furthest corner so thought i would make my way around there and see if there was anything about. as i got towards the corner in question i saw a few younger ones, i dont bother with them save em for another day. then a big buck sat bolt upright looking straight at me. I was in the open with nothing to rest on and the grass was to long inbetween for me to lay so i slowly raised the rifle to take a standing shot. it looked a similar distance to the first one i missed so this time i gave only 1 mill dot. pulled the super light trigger and up he went. a full backflip was his last act. i counted my paces as i walked to collect my prize. 43. and a good clean kill less than 20 hours after collecting my new toy.

I was only out for a mooch and a test of the imp one for the pot was enough so i wandered back home happy with the imps first outing.

Perhaps the lack of replies is due to the common knowledge that an imp is a fab rifle and perfectly capable of such shots. It's a bit of a buzz word that's growing old.

We'll done by the way. I read this earlier at work, but felt there's no need to post anything as it's an imp. Mr pittaway must have shares in SFS.

The PCP version of the 850 is called the 1250 Dominator over here, and has been available for some time. Is that the one you're thinking about? http://www.carl-walther.de/cw.php?lang=en&content=products&sub=1&subsub=12&product=780

Its this one mate just been released waiting ,some shops stock it or about too .

As you can see from the pic im really tempted to buy it ,especially with about 180 shots per fill .

Ive seen loads of vids about modding the 850 airmagnum to HPA from Co2 which makes it a more consistant rifle .

So i was doing abit more research about the 850 magnum modding scene and was thinking about modding an 850 magnum to HPA ,

but the i found about the Rotex R8 which is basicly the same rilfe so no modding required .

Last but not least some peeps saying it looks like BSA's R10 mk2 .

Yeah, looks a bit like the R10. Same 850 action, which is easy to tinker with. I had one for a while, upgraded it to 12 fpe. Superb trigger, nice little shooter. Only drawback was the power drop in winter. I thought about getting the 1250 Dominator (HPA version of the 850), but went for a FAC springer in the end. If I ever get a PCP it may well be the 1250.

I try and keep a un bias view of these posts and try and stay neutral, and look at it this way. If the rifle is as good as all the different reviews say. If it really is as accurate as Simon shows in his clips. If it can compete with a pcp then surely what he does in bringing it to the attention of the shooting groups is a good thing wouldn't you agree? Nothing worse than a big secret that just an elite few keep to themselves without sharing. Also as Simon shows, he and his shooting friend Davi are sponsored by SFS and so doing what sponsored shooters do (spreading the good word). What do people think Ted is doing from TedsHoldover with Edguns, FX guns and Airguns of Arizona? Just the same, spreading the good word. I doubt Simon and Davi have any shares in SFS and take it this post was just in jest. The funny thing though is some readers will actually believe it and cause a negative response, they in my eyes are just doing a good job in taking their sponsorship seriously. If what they were showing was utter made up crap to make SFS money then I too would feel differently about what they do, but look around people and open your ears, listen to other peoples reviews of what they have reviewed. They show things how they really are and back it up with video evidence then the validation really comes from others.

Simon I know isn't a member any more on here, some may say good riddance and be happy, maybe you should ask them why they feel this way or maybe they should be honest with themselves and ask why, some may wish he was still here, either way no one can say what they do isn't popular and followed. You only have to join their FB group and see the numbers there if you need verification. Live and let live.

The Imp seems to get rave reviews everywhere.

Now go and zero the fecking thing properly, rather than plinking at branches & posts, or you'll have wounded bunnies running off down their holes.

coypu i hear what you are saying but the imp is well and truly zeroed. it was my lack of practice with this gun that was my down fall on the first bunny. i was shooting as i would have with my old gun. having seen where the pellet went and adjusting to suit with my next shot it was a clean head shot, no injured bunnies running anywhere pal.

My apologies -- you sound like you know what you're doing, now!

Good hunting.
