Some idiot overturned a sleeper on the wifes regular dog walk.

Left these pups baking in the sun. Couldn`t have been done long, so I have an idea of who done it as his van was parked up.

Can`t decide, Voles, or Rats I`m thinking Rats cause the tail looks quite thick, but hey ho I could be wrong

What do you lot think.?

Hard to measure them from the photos but I'm thinking shrews.

I thought shrew. But Im going for rat, because of the thick tail, thats shorter than its body. Its face looks too pointy for a vole. Ive just read that if it was a mouse, its tail would be long and thin, but it wasnt clear if it referring to juveniles or infants.

Maybe when they're that young it doesn't work but when eaten shrews give off a foul tasting toxin, hence the reason foxes don't eat them.

nothing eats moles or rooks either, when i has sparrowhawks they would not eat starlings unless i skinned them first, the same with the falcons and seagulls they have skin like a well oiled sowester :laugh:

Owls will eat moles I give all the ones I catch to a local bird of prey sanctuary ... And my ferrets will eat rooks ..........

owls will also eat worms hence why they maybe eat moles too  i have never seen anything eat a rook, left a pile once in a hedge was months before they rotted away :laugh:
