Nesting

Has anyone shot a bird from a nest? The pigeon variety. I was on my shoot this morning and noticed quite a lot of birds frantically flapping in small trees and bushes as I walked by, and had an opportunity to bag a bird that came back but decided not too. I don't know why. It was so on too, clear zero range.

 

I shot the "branchers" last year and didn't think twice as that's the idea, but a pigeon on a nest...

I generally leave them, unless it's magpies then I'll shoot the adult an go get a long stick and knock the nest out of the tree

i only shoot maggies and crows from the nest

As above I generally leave anything other than the corvids on the nest. My only real exception to that is feral pigeons in sheds where I find its the best way to put a serious dent in the population.
