Summer Ferreting

Recommended Posts

Nice going mate new green convener at the course i did for seven years wanted only ferreting to be done after 7pm to 7 am so not to upset the members so the second word was Off, hes been voted off now theres a polish bird got the job so need to bump into her see if shes more understanding :laugh:

should of done it under a full moon providing its not all brash and cover but you can and do have some good sport doing it that way and they seem to bolt better for some reason wait while about 9ish then hit it and has the moon rises the better seeing it is surprising how your eyes adjust and its saves alot of hassle of golfers or joe public walking about and hotspots :D

Its nice that your convener sympathetic to your ferreting requirements that guy was just a DICK and as the course was just over the road from the house i often went over after a mornings rain etc when there would be nobody about . i was over walking the dogs the other day and the head green keeper says theres plenty rabbits when are you coming back but the truth is i must be getting auld as i cant be arsed with the place now

i dont doubt he was a dick and i hope the polish lass comes up trumps but im only sympathetic to my needs like less hassle and not always having the perm on my door step and not wanting to bump in to anyone i have to get there when i can even on moon lit nights i wasnt having a dig at you by the way only a suggestion

Ni i wasn't taking it like that mate , each year i used to take all of September of to make a real good start n the ferreting season but for the last 3/4 years i havent as the covers still way to high and its usually the rain that beats it down to let you get a start on ferreting rather than the frosts . so moonlight ferreting no going to be a option in fact its getting back to the early 70's when i can remember ferreting in t shirts its that warm and humid
