I think I'll have my twobobs worth lol. For me the people that want of or out of THL forum take it to seriously ! The reason for this I believe is because they Care about this forum !! Me I do enjoy reading post on here but at the same time once I log of I forget about it and move on .It's a shame because although it's people I don't know , the people that have left I really do miss their posts and so do a lot of others from what I'm reading. Also can I ask,Mat do you rub this many people up the wrong way in the real world , and if not why do you think a lot of people have taken a dislike to you ? Not being snide it's a genuine question .

Honestly?

No.

I think some people read posts on the internet wrongly

What some folks think is condescending, is often my sense of humour

Do I stay awake at night worrying what a few strangers on an internet forum think of me?

No.

I've got more important things to worry about!

Anyway, if anyone does have an issue with me, they're always welcome to take it to PM. Better that than polluting the forum

Fair play !

Not said owt till now. So here's my tuppence worth for what good it's worth. Folk ask to be deleted. Why the long drawn out affair?? Or the condescending replies from some Mod's?? yup there's some wan

Probably the only comment from me on the whole affair   I can understand why Ian did what he did. He owns the site, and as such has a responsibility for it`s content (to an extent). The advertiser

Here's the way I look at it ..................No one is holding a gun to my head to come on so If i don't want to come on then I won't.   I've never be to a pub and asked a landlord to ban me.......

I'm so glad I'm no longer a Mod. After nearly nine years I asked Ian to take me off the Mod panel and it was a good choice. The thing is, that being a Mod is no fun, and you're constantly being asked to sort of playground fights, bickering and just fools being awkward in general. As well as a raft of people saying "Delete me", then a week later they're back on.

And, here's the thing, if anyone, no matter how 'anti-mod' they were was made into a Mod they would do exactly the same as what the other Mod's do. I've been on here since it started, and there's always ups and downs, and I've seen a multitude of little sites spring up, but in every instance after a week or two the lads are back on here. Then there's the prima donna's who like to announce that they're leaving, trying to drum up as many sympathy posts of 'please don't leave' as possible. Those people always made me laugh.

The bottom line is that a site of this size cannot survive without Moderation and, indeed, the mods take off many posts and photos that are damaging to our sport. However, I do think that an addition of an 18+ section available by request only, would be a good addition to the site.

Like it or not, the internet is here to stay, it is not a fad, or a phase, it's here forever and will be the biggest, most accessable medium for the hunting enthusiast. Without moderation it would be a proper mess.

my eyes hurt :tongue2:

Internet forums are like soap opera's on the telly, you know they are not for real (well most do) but you cannot help but get caught up in the drama. People get killed off or leave and new blood is brought in, and in a couple of weeks the ones who were killed off are forgotten, as the new blood creates new drama.

It is not just THL all large forums have the same problem. It happened on PW many years ago, the disaffected started up another forum called PWforums. Some threw their hat in with the latter others floated between the both.

Anyway what would a soap be without a bit of drama and drama queens?

In theory a "delete my account" option like on ebay and some other sites would be the best option. That would save the pages and pages of attention seeking drivel we have to plough through every time someone feels offended.

THL doesn't have that option though, so the next best thing is try really hard to be an adult and force yourself not log on.

There's a couple of forums I'm a member of that I don't use any more. I'm sure i could if i wanted to but I don't. It really is that easy.

Its the same old same old, the place has been here 10 year, we've seen them come, we've seen them go... drama queens, bully boys, piss heads, idiots, braggers......... but then we have genuinely good members, who help others, are polite, respectful and no bother at all, ever..

I've lost count of the amount of topics like these that pop up , that are pretty pointless to be honest. If someone doesn't want to be on here anymore, even if all they have to do is not login again, let me know. I'll remove them, not a problem...This has happened countless times............guess what happens, they setup another account...how sad is that.

So just PM away if you want removing, if you feel the urge, and its affecting your life in the real world..I'm more than happy to help...no seriously I'am, then maybe we can stop all these bullshit topics... :fool:
