No the case from .243 is bigger, as that is just a necked down .308, the .22-250 is as SS says a necked down .250 savage case, and began its life (as so many did) as a wildcat cartridge, the .250-3000 savage as it was know was I think the first commercial cartridge to achieve, 3000 fps hence the name, it was developed around 1915 I think, so has been around for a while if you stand a .22-250 next to a .243 the .243 is a little fatter and a tad longer but there is not much in it. 1 Quote Link to post

Had the call from the feo today who has ok'd the variation and checked the land is cleared. He said I should get it in a couple of weeks...
