He was stitched and getting on ok come down.today lampshade off EVERY stitch out hole open.again a right mess. Going vets again. Driving me mental. Cant stop.him from.opening them up. Will they heal like this ? Quote Link to post
desertbred 5,490
it will take for ever and a day if they are gaping holes, need to heal from the bottom up the stitches only allow the top to knit need packing with sterile gauze and kept scrupupously clean allow crystalisation in the bottom of the wounds and gradualy draw the gauze out a bit at a time will be a long process unlessstitched internally in the muscle also with disolving stiches and the skin with steel, go to a good vet with experience of working dogs 4 Quote Link to post

*The*Field*Marshall* 674
Why not stick a cone over the dogs head? I've used base of plastic sweet tub when stitching myself, works fine. Not too tight, you don't want the plastic digging in. ATB 2 Quote Link to post
Deputy Dog 28
You won't stop dog from harrassing wound. Cone or tub like Marshall said works well Quote Link to post
