Deputy Dog 28
Good movement. Seen lads in past, looks champs on bag and pads. But when in ring look like chumps. Time will tell, promising lad.

gnasher16 30,231
This is where times have changed years ago a generally tough kid would be taught how to box....nowadays a talented boxer is being taught how to be tough and it doesnt quite work the same................ to make a quality pie give me raw basic ingredients over fancy toppings any day Id always question the motives of a father/trainer whos instilled that level of technique into a 5 year old anyway Edited July 16, 2014 by gnasher16

marshman 7,758
You don't know hes father mightn't want hes kid to be the next boxing legend , he might just want the kid to be fit and know how to look after himself. Either way for a little un hes very good !!
philstory 83
I agree with you marshman. It impressed the hell out of me!! Co-ordination and speed at that age looked good to me.
gnasher16 30,231
Couldnt agree more lads its the same in any sport....... a 5 year old who can do 100 keepy uppies with a ball dont mean he,s going to be a top footballer but its still impressive to watch.......control of a ball is a tiny aspect of being a footballer as flashy combinations of punches is for a boxer.
norseman 424
I think your right, tough fighters generally come from nothing, or poverty stricken areas and have more of a harsh upbringing therefore nothing to lose and everything to fight for, although that doesn't go for every boxer. just look at mexico, produced some hard b*****ds over recent years.
jukel123 8,335
Makes me feel a bit uneasy seeing parents/ training/pushing kids into anything. It can work-Tiger Woods, Andy Murray, the Williams sisters, Tyson Fury. But these hothoused kids never seem their own person, they are always trying to please their parents. Let kids be kids.
