slipper 116
When my spaniel is trained I will be looking for a lurcher to work along side, this is the cross I was looking at what do you think? Its just for mooching and the odd night lamping, but are they the sort of cross that will last all night if they are fit? Any pros and cons? The fields I will be working are a mix of grass sheep grazing fields on hills, barley stubble / sowing, what are their feet like, I, m great full for any info, cheers Quote Link to post

morton 5,368
I had two dogs of this breeding, litter mates, speed and wind to burn,i could,nt live with their aloof nature and lack of grit, when the going got hard, dirty, wet and cold, they did,nt.Id source a Collie based lurcher, imo,it will give you a better end result, easier to train, easier to enter, may not have the same pace, yet pace can be a liability in a lamper,at times. 1 Quote Link to post
nothernlite 18,112
Think i would agree with morton bit of something else in the mix as well to much speed can mean alot of injurys at times 1 Quote Link to post

Fast as hell with stamina to spare but I think some collie blood would go along way. Dean flutes pups should make great pot filling dogs Quote Link to post
