I have been grateful enough the last five seasons to have worked and given sound terriers, i have dug and hunted with them to the most respect and have been speechless, out every other day and with good results, and with all honesty. But when i opened a magazine before and see some of the people, dogs and dealers, it seems even worse through the UK, money, dogs not worked right or much and hypercrites, are in the fiddle like MPs,. And picking their dog's out. I know a good while back for instance for the border terriers when they had shows in England they were very chosen on judge, and hunting, type, for a good while or it never went ahead,, now it seems there ia lot moreffakes, failures in the game.. Oh well stay clear of that lot, hunt on,,

Unfortunately mate it's getting worse I've been to a few shows were judges turn up with the winners and a few were they picking the wrong end of the lead f***ing joke and worse part breeding from dogs that a no good because it's out of good stuff same shit different day mate lol

Just worry about the dogs you kennel/work...none of us can stop anyone from breeding off poor dogs but we don't have to buy them either do we?

the rosettes for me are the shape of quarry my dog accounts for, not those red badges like you used to get as a kid at the dentists fit only for powder puff dogs. a show dog is like a male model against a boxer, once he gets hit hes looking for the exit, still he might look good though

The dog game just like any other pastime will always have dreamers and messers in it midst ...just keep decent , honest dogs and lads around you and forget about the rest you cant do more than that ......you can tell a lot about someone by the people he has around him

Amen MIK. Read the old books and you'll see that the shows did the same thing to the other working types before. Fox terriers, them the jack Russell was the working type of fox terrier, then that type became show dogs too. Kerry blues, man cheaters, sealyhams. But the working terriers are still out there as long as hunters have them.

We can't help what others do mate wether we like so called terrier men churning out pups and telling the maho stories or not they will still do it we can voice our opinion but that's about it, we can only live life by our own decisions, keep the company of people who have the same intrests and morals as ourselfs and stay away from the people who talk shite, damage the terrier world and put pound signs before their morals.

Mik is bang on the money here, I couldn't post better than that... As for magazines IMO, they ALL harbor Peddlers and then Peddle the Peddlers themselves!

 

It's only that some are open about it and others disguise it with cleaver editing....

 

In this world, above the parapet, the game is fecked BUT thankfully there are those below who really work, breed and gift dogs and, for real workers, long may that continue....
