Disaster

Recommended Posts

We went out last night and just got the gun pumped up and the lamp sorted out and a rabbit appeared and that was the first one in the bag , I always feel better after we have the first one . We where going round getting a few mostly big rabbits when my son shot one and it dropped like a stone and we went to pick it up and i heard a clatter the stud had came out the top of the sling and the gun spun round and the silencer hit the ground we tried to check the zero after that and found we couldn't hit a sheet of a4 paper at 30 yards so we gave up and headed home . Ended up with thirteen though on what looked a promising night

Thats a shame, if its the thread I always use some Loctite. I have found over many years that the twisting of the sling can quickly unscrew at the fore end. Its a sobering experience to bend a barrel.

I am using mainly American sourced sling and ancillary bits nowadays, by far better quality, yes dearer but more reliable.

Hope its not too badly damaged.

Hoping she will be fine going to Loctite or super glue it in and get her sighted ready for the next days off , just need to use the rimmy for a few days

What damage has it done?

When I got home I checked her over and there's no a mark on her all the Allen screws apart from the one holding the woodwork on to the barrel where tight ,just need a couple of hours now to get her sighted in
