My first car was an Austin Montego 1.6L when I was 18 :toast: It cost me £1,200 and another £1,000 for third party insurance. It lasted me 4 years and took me from Nottingham to Chelmsford every weekend to visit my girlfriend, now wife when she was at University. It eventually caught fire due to an oil leak on the A610 on the way to deliver it to the new owner =@

Good thread, I haven't got any pics, but my first car was a Ford Prefect :icon_eek: , the one with the "air" wipers...........the more you pressed the throttle, the slower they'd go and vice versa :icon_eek: , anyway I remember being up in the hills with quite a steep decent so no throttle etc and the feckin things flew off in the middle of a gale

I did have my sisters old Metro once, a 1 litre powerhouse with only 4 gears :whistling: It didn't help that it had "the metro touch" on the rear windscreen, whats that all about....Sad thing was she gave it me and bought a sporty version... :icon_redface:

Leveller, don't try and be all cool, I bet your first car was really a Fiat 126........... :whistling:

Here you go Ricky, not mine but I had Blue....for a boy

Infact I've had some good...some very bad

Austin Montego, good...for a while

Mini Metro, not good for the ladies when your 21 years old

Ford Sierra Sapphire (very nice)

Rover Metro, the 1.4 GS with leather and electrics, for posh old ladies

Vauxhall Astra Estate, economic but slower than Geoff Capes in a bear trap

Renault Laguna Estate, very nice

Nissan Navara, excellent

Been through those in 16 years since I got my first at 18...

My first car was a old K plate MK1 Escort, it was a very sexy Light Blue . the second Motor in the picture was a MK3 Cortina 2.0 GT, The third was My Pride and joy at the time and a prime Fanny Magnet, Capri 2.0 S, and another quick picture of a Escort RS Turbo Custom 91 Spec I owned in 93, another Fanny Magnet for its time ...

For some reason during this era I had a thing about Fannies ..
