Chicken_man 1,651
Hi, Here are some pics of some 5 wk old chicks. Note: The two young stags are exactly the same age/father, but one (the larger ) being from a 2 yr old hen, and the other a pullet. I have not weighed them, but I think I will just to see. They are no particular line, just my own. What do you think? Good or bad I would like to know Atb
bullx100% 681
Looking good them cm...the hen has thrown some good size birds...I have always been told that a hen has more influence in th off spring than the cock...others disagree ...I also mo a Asian lad who will never Breed off a pullet only hens as he says they produce a better offspring....

Ukroosterman 548
If you wanna increase or decrease the size of the offspring alway do this from hens side
bullx100% 681
Looking good them cm...the hen has thrown some good size birds...I have always been told that a hen has more influence in th off spring than the cock...others disagree ...I also mo a Asian lad who will never Breed off a pullet only hens as he says they produce a better offspring.... Did you have a look at the weight difference ?....yes mate the 2year old hen is producing stags that are 1lb 4 ounce and pullets that that' are just over a lb and the chicks from the Pullet are only 12 ounce ..looks to me the older hen produces bigger stock..if bigger stronger fowl is what your after I'd keep this hen in your breeding plan.. Try putting the farther back to his young next year see what they produce...I'd Also put the same cock back to the pullet what has produced the smaller chicks again next year to see if she produces smaller stock again once shed becomes a hen......although like uk says hatch brothers and sisters cn come in all different shapes n sizes
