mad al 146
As you know Al, i do a fair amount of air rifle shooting and it has never even entered my head to join a forum. i have however been a member of a few gun clubs and found them to be just the same. I was shooting at county level back then and had a fernwerbou (fecked if i could pronounce it, let alone spell it) which at the time cost about 3grand new. indoor standard 10m target using dioptamal sights (spelling?) TALK ABOUT CLICKY.... never once made a new member welcome or get engaged with a shooter who shoots anything other than paper targets. all the 3yrs i shoot for one club i was made to feel very awkward by some. maybe it was because i was only in my late teens then and the oldies(the age i am now) possible didnt fancy the new ways of pcps and such entering the shooting world. these days i choose to keep myself to myself and dont get involved with any form of hunting or shooting club/forum. nor will i judgeing by what has been said here in this thread. Nice one MC , do you know, it's just occurred to me, I was a member of a couple of Motor Clubs in my days of trying to keep cars ON the black sticky stuff and it was the feckin same there  Take Care........Al Quote Link to post

Malt 379
I agree with you Al, I'm a member of BBS, but I don't post there anymore. I came across a post where some young lad had posted a thread asking for advice as he had just bought his first gun, and needed some help with regards to shooting magpies. You wouldn't belive some of the replies, mostly arrogant insults about not buying a gun if you can't use it properly and all that, and some downright nasty, bitchy bo**ocks as well. At least the lad had asked for what he thought was advice from people with experience. At least the people on this site take the time to actually give some helpfull, usefull advice. Everytime I have asked for some information on this board, It has been given. There is a lot of knowledge flying about this site, and it's great to be able to tap into it without fear of being made to feel like a prick for asking something you need to know. Quote Link to post

Malt 379
Yeah, I know the type! You shouldn't be allowed to shoot an airgun unless you can get a half inch grouping at a million yards in a force 9 gale! Quote Link to post
bill88 6
Airgun BBS = gun nerds with no life making themselves sound more interesting by doing mathematical calculations about hitting targets (mainly paper ones) and telling each other how many guns they have. Al i know exactly what you mean about clicky gun ranges as well mate. When my lad first started shooting i took him to our local range, where we were ignored and scowled at for 2 hours. The only feckin thing they said to us was "have you got any insurance" Shower of a******es,couldn't even help a young kid.I left him up there with his mate one day and the gun ran out of air,11 people shooting (all had bottle's) and no one would fill the gun for him Quote Link to post
jasper65 6
Spread the Word , Genuine Shooting/Hunting lads on the BBS can never voice a opinion without being shot down. they need to know they can join a REAL site! where they can talk and read about REAL Hunting! by REAL like minded shooters.....
