Cheers lads. The missus says she has perked up a lot tonight. Eating and drinking well and wandering about the house wagging her tail. So all seems well so far.

Only just read this sounds like you have had a heart wrenching time with her gaz. Glad to heat she is improving.

 

For me pet insurance is a must for my 3 runners it costs about £35 a month but I have it as a direct debit and don't really think about it, it just comes out at the end of each month. But if something like this happens all those payments are well worth it, especially if they are a family pet as well as workers.

 

Just a word of warning, my last renewal quote from tesco was double the amount I was paying. I went on and did a new quote and got it for cheaper than I was paying before by the same company! How they can do that I'll never know. Only thing with that is as with any new quote you arn't insured for pre existing conditions or anything that happens in the first 2 weeks of the policy

Not had the bill yet. She's back in tomorrow to have stitches/dressing looked and arrange to have stitches out. I've just been down to drop some papers off from the emergency vets and the receptionist said it hasn't gone above the £3k insurance limit, even with £400 for a one nights stay at the emergency vets.

I suppose you have got your own anti biotics so I won't bother with that and I know you will take the stitches out and watch the wound so there is no need for another appointment ... I had to take one of mine last year, they guesstimated £400-£500, which was fine, then I mentioned insurance, when I went back to collect her, the bill had risen to £950. Robbing c**ts.

Haha you couldn't make it up could you. I wish I had said I wasn't insured and claimed with the insurer myself afterwards. Just didn't want the hassle and thought letting them sort the paperwork would be easier.
