pernod 466
Football as a serious sport is gone im afraid. Just a bunch of cheats and posers now who behave like spoiled children. My son watches and tapes every game, but even he is becoming frustrated with some of the cheating antics. Personaly i wouldnt be bothered if i never saw another match. Just my opiniin of course. pernod
bird 9,969
I didn't think there was that much hype around England this year tbh... And never were they touted to win it... I expected them to get out of the group, but there's been a lot of surprises this World Cup .. Look at Costa Rica, a missed penalty away from the semis, who would've called that? Spain out at the group stages? But the teams left in aren't a shock are they... Brazil, Agentina, holland and Germany... It sorts the wheat from the chaff in the end and these are some top sides.. Been a great World Cup IMO.. I've enjoyed all the games I've watched.. yeh , good thread , regards England it really comes home to you how a average-poor we are as national team , compare to a lot of other teames that played in comp, and iam not on about the even last 16 either. I think its been a good wake up call regards football in England, we either got to change our training methods i.e. holding+passing a ball ,just general confidence with a ball a ball instead of what we do know (shit scarred), and with bit of luck we might learn to improve our football . regards the diving all the while , the ref should stop the match call the captains to him, and say the next player to feint a tackle , will be sent off for 10 mins like they do in rugby (sin bin) which is 7 mins, but make it 10 mins for football. I reckon if that law happened in football at all levels, it would start stop the cheats in this great game
bracken boy 584
Proper fans will and still do love our great game, the diving and cheating comes from a must win attitude from managers, clubs, countrys which comes from money money money and all fans hate it and want fifa to take control but they are weak, ROBBO i really do hate the cheats and divers and yes a stronger stance on the pitch..
NEWKID 27,278
I hate the diving and play acting, gets right on my tits... When I played the last thing you wanted was for your opponent to know you were hurt, f**k pretending your hurt.. Big stakes bring it out, the foreigners brought it into our game...
NEWKID 27,278
I just don't think they're was a lot of hype around England this time? They weren't expected to do much and didn't.. I know you Scottish would like it to be more than that...
bracken boy 584
Why should we take any footballing advice from the scottish??? At least we try and play football a little bit maybe.

robbo 853
Bracken boy i understand your love of the game , i have the same love of rugby league. i just feel that you and all the other fans who pay sometimes extortionate prices to facilitate the purchase of overpriced prima donnas are being cheated by the players who do it and more so the authorities who allow it to continue simply by not applying the rules of the game more strictly. TOMO 26,503
Yeh the Belgian v USA game was a cracking game,,, But yeh all that diving does my head in,,,,interestingly I was watching the World Cup from a few year back,,,they been doing programs on the old ones,,,,it was great to see tackles going in,,,and players still standing up in the tackle
morton 5,368
Football is not the game it was, some fantastic matches though and a few more gems discovered that will command extortionate transfer fees, thus pushing up the price of entry and the need to cheat, to satisfy the board and money men that see clubs as collateral to line the shareholders pockets.Players are overpaid to get results that will attract sponsorship, football is secondary, get to a Rugby league match to see genuine sportsmen now.
