villaman 9,982
Had a problem with the bluing coming off my new HW100KT .177 and could not get a group with any pellet , so phoned Hull Cartridge last Monday and spoke to Chris ,he arranged to have my gun picked up from my house and delivered back to me by Friday . Chris phoned me on Thursday to say it will be back on Friday, true to his word again. Scoped it up re zeroed with H&Nftt 8.7gr , before zeroing I gave the barrel a good clean with a pull through ,well put 14 pellets on top of each other . Tried another nine different pellets ,all very good as well ,so very , very pleased . Some times Hull cartridge gets slated but for me they have gone the extra mile to please me and kept me informed all of the time Now I have 5 fantastic airguns HW100kt .22 , HW100kt.177 , HW97k .22 tuned by me , HW97kt.177 vmach kit and tuned and of course the super little BSA ultra m/s.177 regged by XTX Air . What more could I ask for !! Forgot to add my first ever airgun BSA Meteor .22 and that gun is 42 years old this Christmas . Edited June 29, 2014 by villaman Quote Link to post

villaman 9,982
Cracking collection villaman! I wouldnt mind a .177 hw100kt to go with my .22! I have been reading about how pellet fussy .177 barrels are on the HW100,the first ,177 I had was great, then they sent me a new gun and the barrel just would not group ,now with this new barrel it will take any pellet doing one hole groups Quote Link to post
villaman 9,982
Just added another gun I forgot to put in BSA Meteor .22 Quote Link to post
mark williams 7,563
Nice collection of rifles there VM.Good to hear Hull Cartridge looked after you so well also. Out of interest mate which calibre HW 100 kt do you tend to reach for most often when going hunting ? I have the HW 100 kt (1.77) and the HW 100 ks (.22) - my favorite is easily the .177 version. atb. 1 Quote Link to post

Just doing a load of pellet testing out in the field ,ranges from 35 zero out to 65 yards , best so far are AA express 7.9 4.52 a 10mm group at 65 yards ,these are just unbelievable , in fact I put 7 pellets through the same hole at 35 yards ,I had to put the eighth pellet to the right just to make sure. AA fields 8.44 4.51 and RWS super fields 8.44 gr 4.51 came second with the superfields just edging it. All though JSB heavies 10 .3gr may be a little bit better ,I will be doing a bit more testing with these I tried fields in 4.52 , but past 45 yards the opened up a bit more just like JSB exacts 4.52 . So to answer your question , I don't know yet ,but I do like the .22 and I love the ultra .177 with the Pulsar n550 on at night time ,so time will tell Quote Link to post
mark williams 7,563
Hi mate, I`ve been using AA fields diablo in both calibres and simply struck such high confidence with these pellets that i`m annoyed "with myself" if a miss occurs . I find both calibres hit extremely hard and true. RWS super fields ran an extremely close second at the range. atb Quote Link to post
paulk73 151
I have only had to deal with hull cartridge twice. once when there was a flood and they had my hw 100 for 3 months instead of the quoted 10 days. and once when my hw 100kt developed a problem with the firing valve and it needed replacing. again they had it for well over the quoted time. I still use hw 100 cos they are the best about in my opinion, and it looks like they have sorted their act out. Quote Link to post
paulk73 151
I find h&n ftt and baracuda match are brilliant through mine. and im just testing some hunter extreme. im not normally a fan of gimmicky pellets, but ive just put a 8 pellets through a hole not much bigger than the size of one pellet at 25 yrds. which is enough for my ratting needs. Incidently ive just been told by an airgun shop worker that .177 is no good for rats. they just pass straight through. I told him I shoot hundreds of rats with my .177. he said that they just run away. I said I only take head shots. and he replied that it dosnt matter. when I explained that I was putting a 4.5 mm hole through a 12 mm brain the only thing I need yo worry about, was where the pellet finished after exiting the rat. he proceded to tell me that he once shot a squirrel and it wasnt dead. and he put 8 more pellets through the brain before ot died!!!!
