RemyBolt 420
Someones student love it lol Glad my desire to improve and recognition that so many out there and on here are better outdoorsmen than me, entertains you. I don't listen to music, so the Elton John reference was lost on me. I'm sure it was very witty though. Same principle though, your a noob yourself yet your acting like some permission guru. That's fair comment. I can see why you'd think that. With shooting rabbits with an airifle, I'm first to admit my inexperience. But asking if anyone wants to teach someone, and asking for land, is very different. One is recognition of the other person's experience and skill, and a desire to progress. The other is just asking for land, and not the skill set with how to work it. I have the land, I just want to learn how to work it better and become a better hunter. As for the permission guru, fair cop. I do manage and teach a sales team, who have already doubled the sales of last YEAR. I'm not a permission guru, I'm a sales teacher. The same principles apply from one to the other. To get a sale is the same basic process as getting a permission, Meet+Greet-Qualify-Build Value-Close-Aftersale Service-Referral. So I'm using what I know to help newer members out. I'm no hunting guru, but if you want to sell a service, like vermin control, I can help with taking the first steps to successfully getting a permission....which is what I've tried to do on this forum. It's a pet peeve because the information is there, and yet people are not taking that information and are not benefiting from it. There are people on the forum willing to help others out. But instead of seeking out those people, many are just asking for land to shoot on and nothing more. I am asking if anyone wants to help me improve my ability. It's my job to get the land and to put in the hours of work on the range and in the field. Which is why I only asked IF anyone wanted to teach someone. It's a pretty big difference. Well, I have my Gun Cabinet up now, I'll be getting my paperwork sent off very soon, and I'll be able to get back to what I am used to and how I want introduced to shooting. I'll be out with a .22lr. I'll be far fewer noob questions from me then Edited June 28, 2014 by RemyBolt

Did you miss one of those? I'm generally posting about my failings with rabbits at the moment. Only get to go out shooting Saturday morning, sometimes a Friday morning, because my trouser wearing wife is just pulling out of a major depression that's been going on around a year. The man puts up a helpful , constructive post and gets nothing but stick , a bit long winded and a bit patronising in tone ,but well intentioned and useful . I hope it dosnt put him off posting . I am quite sesquipedalian in my posts (and in daily conversation), and I can be seen as patronising, but those that know me recognise and appreciate the tone everything is said in. I guess that's a problem with forums, you can't always make your vocal tone evident. I'm not put off posting. I'll just keep to the hunting and not bother trying to help people with thinks I know how to do. The loss won't be for me. Newer members can just come on the forum, then get ripped for asking for a permission, then leave the forum within a few days. After all, there are clearly so many guys on here wiling to take people out on their perms (not the hairstyles Marshman....although I'm sure you could bring them back into fashion if you kept at it). I love the way so many people that have criticised me have jumped at the opportunity to help those in the classified section that are asking for ratting! I bet there's not a single post there that has not been answered with words of encouragement or invites to permissions, in that section.
Astanley 11,568
A bit on the sesquipedalian side , that last post
birdsallpl 6
Remybolt . I was actually starting to feel a kind of sympathy for you with all the crap you was getting, some of it not really deserved. But, I am quite sesquipedalian in my posts (and in daily conversation), you really do lead with your chin. ATB though.

morton 5,368
Seeking permission in the right way, with the right attitude is the way forward in these modern times, when ignorance rules over sanity, yet a dog that needs a gallop is far more important to some, than the well being of a shooter with an hand full of membership and insurance confetti.Fair play to the lad for attempting to aid and assist, yet some of the dirty unwashed amidst us are past saving and redemption.

Some beautiful words there Walshie! Love it. I love the spoken word and written work. In the office we play a game where someone finds a long word and we have to work out what it means. Brilliant for extending the vocabulary.
