Treating Rabbit Skins

Depends what you want them for. You could just stretch, scrape and salt and leave in a dry, pref sunny spot. They come out crispy.. if you want them supple you will have to tan them. Naturally or chemically. Its said an animal contains enough brain matter to tan its own hide, mash up its brains and leave the skin to soak in the solution. Or you could just buy the kit. Used to go to the chemists and get a salte petre pack cost a couple of quid and was the size of a ten pack of cigarettes did fox skins and rabbit skins now it's hardly worth the bother
