alan81 110
first cross bull/hound is a pit bull x greyhound. you mentioned the staffy I would never cross a staffy with a greyhound. true gameness and stamina has been bred out of the staffy plus most of them have breathing problems. 1 Quote Link to post

But you are right a lot of staffs are bred for the show ring today, and very unhealthy have HD etc , even few pits are getting HD and other health probs , they breed for size and get more unhealthy dog, the best pits were never over big dogs, get the odd few, but most were not that big . 1 Quote Link to post

Listen if you want second rate shit then that price would be fine, but these are the real deal mate!!! £25,000 is a fair price considering the amount of time and effort the mrs will be spending cleaning up all their shit while I'm down the pub!! alan81 110
I had a few working bred staff's a few years ago and know more that friends had. these dogs were in the 18" to 21" range and worked hard but everyone of them had breathing problems, some bad and some not so bad but for that fact alone I would not cross a breed with breathing problems to try create a running dog. imo it totally defeats the purpose of a running dog. 1 Quote Link to post

alan81 110
you can look where you like iv been around working dogs all my life and iv yet to see a staffy with the stamina of a good pit bull. iv seen some with every bit as much drive but none of them matched up stamina wise due to there bad breathing. 1 Quote Link to post
