Firearms Ticket

Hi guys put my application in at the end of May had my visit and land checks all went well spoke to the firearms team at the time and they said ring in 3weeks (today) so straight on the phone this morning and was told they have loads to do and to ring back in another 3 weeks! Not impressed but nothing I can do...

Mine was 5 months from start to finish in Yorkshire. Applied late january, had visit early february, ticket came mid june. There's probably much more to it than you think, but like you said, there's nothing you can do.

I was fortunate with mine but my friend has his already and put in for a variation and took 9 months! , he said when he rang up to speak to them he heard him talking to the clerk in the background and shouting "what do you mean you havnt ******* got round to it I told you weeks ago" or words to that effect.

Dont be put off I think that was rather unlucky but do give them a ring after about the 6 week period and keep ringing every week after that just to keep your name fresh with them...good luck!

Had the FEO round today to sort my dads license out and he told me to ring the office to find out if mine was one of the 50 firearms tickets they have just signed was mine, so phone call made and yes it was should be here by the weekend or Monday.

Norfolk is a lot quicker than that, when i first got mine not that long ago it was less than a month from start to finish......cant be that much to it if they can go that quick.
