_NO_FEAR_ 2
Im new to this catapult malarkey and was wondering what would you say is the best size ball bearing to use to kill pigeons, rabbits and squirrels? Also what would you say is the furthest distance you've had a kill?
pip1968 2,490
i use 9.5mm for all the above but i would put it down to preference,,ie some like 12mm lead but then you need double bands to get the power to shoot them, just have a look at some of the kills on this page and most are using single tbg or asda bands
roosika 110
I use anything really , I use singles most of the time and shoot marbles , 9,5 steel and any other ball bearings , hex nuts what ever and double asda blue for 12 mm leads mate and the draw is easy
_NO_FEAR_ 2
Thanks for your replies so far gents, what distance have your kills been?
roosika 110
Not had loads but mine is 20-25 m on a crow
whipbed 42
11mm lead i find is the best compromise ie small enough to be fast without dropping over distance but with enough oomph to do the business. these can be made with number 1 ball moulds for fishing weights. i usually get most things close in 15 to 20 feet catty excells at this qiuck opportunistic shooting if making them not an option try hex nuts for close stuff they can be surprisingly effective. good luck
