Just wondering if [NO TEXT TALK] knows if I can still get my lurchers booster done without having to have a new full course again, gone about a month overdue with it just slipping my mind due to work commitments, be greatfull for some advice

Never had any of my dogs there booster dont kennel when i go on holiday so dont think there is any need for them jmo

it will be ok to just to have the booster done, I've forgotten with mine before and had them done a month or so late

The only one you may need to worry about is the Lepto vaccine. It is only supposed to cover dogs for 6-12 months, but I've never had any of mine boosted, though they no longer go ratting much and there are very few rats in my immediate area. My own vet said that once you'd had the first booster done at just over a year old there was no need to bother. You can get a titre count done with a blood test to assess your dog's level of antibodies: mind you that could cost you anything from £25 to £100 depending on whether or not your vet supports titre counts, and if their antibodies weren't high enough you still have to get a booster jab done.

I was told by a fella I do a bit of work for who's wife is a vet and he says you only need to get the first 2 jabs when there pups. The boosters are just a con.

Thanks for the advice, she's 13 month old now, il be getting her booked in then for her first booster and il prob leave it after that if that's what your vet said skycat

Have kept lurchers for 30 odd years and never had a booster only thing you would need to worry about is putting the dogs in kennels they wont take them unless you show theyve been boostered only a con mate

My dads dog has never had a booster for 9 years although it doesn't go out much now as it's 16 and had all it's boosters up until then, vets are gona say they need em every 12 month I suppose arnt they

My local Jolleys pet store has a drop in vet for initial jabs and boosters once per week, though, as most have said, I also only have the first jabs and then the first booster. Not sure how widespread Jolleys is and whether they do this in other areas too.

Never have boosters for my lot only first lot ever done snd lucky one kennel will take mine in without most won't entertain it
