We went to this show as it was advertised in the countrymans as 5 pounds per car, we arrived after an hour or so in the car and the basc have taken this one over and wanted 10 pounds each on the gate, there were plenty of people complaining as it is a tiny show with only a couple of dozen stalls with only a couple with anything to do with the countryside, it was mainly charities, for 10 quid it was a rip off and Danny who took over the terrier and lurchers from Gareth said he was embarrassed, these 2 lads now want nothing to do with this show, we were told pay the tenner or F O, I was restrained by my mate as I wanted to tw*t the mouthy cnut, the public deserve a better deal than this and we shouldn't be used as a cash cow, the stall holders had a poor day and a lot said they won't be there next year, shame as the terrier and lurcher show is what brought the numbers in, next year gareth will be running a show of his own with nothing to do with basc, WM

so what the f**k do you want from a show, this has only been going for about 4 years and they are still learning, I went to the basc show in bodelwyddan and compared to bala that was a shower of shit, rather than just moaning non stop about cost/dogs not prime subjects/burgers too expensive/not enough ferrets why not put your own show on and find out what it takes to put these things on, I`m f***ing pissed off at all the negative posts that crop up after every event, if your not happy, stay away

I'll tell you exactly what we want and that's honesty, you can't advertise it at 5 pounds a car then charge 10 pounds per person on the gate, you don't have to worry about people staying away as your attitude will do that anyway, are you the mouthy tw*t that was on the gate?? I seen the very first lurcher and terrier shows in the early 70's when they were added to hunt shows to bring in extra income, these were all free at the point of entry and the only charge was for entering the show ring, I spoke to a lot of stall holders yesterday and most thought this was a free show as it was charities, double glazing and cars for sale, garages, etc, there were very little in the way of country stalls, one small ring and a knobhead on the loudspeaker speaking welsh (probably you), you are a fool if you think seasoned terrier and lurcher lads will fall for this again, the show scene is already on the decline with numbers very low in the last couple of years at most shows, the normal thing is to place the terrier and lurcher show outside the main event and if people wish to go in and have a look around then they have the opportunity to do so, yesterday after driving so far we were held to ransom with no choice, if you think of what size gamefair you would normally get for a 10 pound entry then this was shocking, tell me how much of the gate will be donated for charity, it was poorly run with money wasted on security fences and little else, I've been to bigger school fetes, there were 68 dogs at the show Saturday Danny told me and a few more yesterday, I hope the show in its present form folds as greed and profit are an ugly thing uinless its for charity, WM

p.s.running a show is an easy job if you are organised, I used to run a 2 day football tournament every year for kids and adults, it was well sign posted with more stalls than was there yesterday, remember you've already had your outlay from the stall holders, burger vans, etc, if run properly every penny on the day should be profit, there was no need to spend money on security fencing, the more outlay the more you have to make, simple economics is obviously not your strong point, a show is only as good as its committee, WM
