Target Practice 0
Hi all, I am wondering how many members on here have insurance for their Guns? We are all aware of the Liability Insurance that is offered with our various memberships of the likes of CPSA, NGO, BASC etc. But how many of you actually have cover for your own Guns in terms of Accidental Damage to them, Theft and Loss? ie theft, damage in the field, barrel blow outs, damaged stock etc... Would you be interested in such a policy for your guns? Some home insurers will cover my Guns but this is only while they are in the home and would not cover accidental damage etc while out in the field etc. or theft from your car/vehicle. Also what about cover for your own private collections, say that old blunderbuss or black powder gun that you get out once in a while? How much do people pay and what is the excesses? Welcome everyones thoughts. Many thanks,
Wullz 408
They are covered in most house insurance as sporting equipment and most policies have an individual item up to a set amount, the policy usually covers you away from the home as well. BUT as we all know, insurance coys are robbing scumbags and will try an wriggle out of paying anything at any time, so read carefully! If in doubt, take out separate insurance, BUT again, tread carefully as they will try and get out of those policies as well.... I have had to step in twice for mates who lost tools through robbery, one from his work van that was insured as a works vehicle and had mega contents cover. When he put in the claim, they said it was NOT insured as a work vehicle......fortunately we had the paperwork to prove them wrong, got the money that day when we threatened them with the Ombudsman. They are happy enough to sell you the policy and take your cash, not so eager to pay out!
tsteve9999 456
I've got 2 shotguns, one decent lanber for pigeon and an old baikal for mooching with the dogs, if either got damaged it wouldn't bother me at all. Can't understand people who buy gun after gun and have a dozen in the cabinet, but each to their own I suppose, all I know is I can miss just as easily with a cheap gun as an expensive one... :D

tsteve9999 456
I love my baikal but it's a double trigger and my fat builders fingers dont easily find the second one If it had been a single trigger I'd use it for everything.
