Pigeon Shooting Wanted - North West

Recommended Posts

Hi,

After many of months/years trying to get permission for shooting and failing, every farm owner I ask already either rents the land out or has a friend shooting on the land.

PLEASE has anyone got some pigeon shooting in Cheshire/North West for me?

Pick up ALL spent cartridges and will not trample crops. Full shotgun licence can be shown on request. PLEASE SOMEBODY HELP ME AND GET IN TOUCH!!

Thanks,

Jake.

Mate your beating a dead donkey asking on here

Seen it time un time again , the piss taking brigade will be along shortly

Try emailing you local golf courses ( book an apointment)tell them what you use

And get some basc insurance (rabbit control) just keep door nocking (pest control)

Sheep farmers don't like foxes, corn farmers don't like pigeons & dairy farmers

Don't like rabbits

Once you get one you'll get the neighbours

Hope this help cm

Congrats on not even saying hello and getting involved in the forum. Instead you've just come on and asked for permissions, no intro, no added input, just straight out "I'm only on here to get land to shoot on." Really bad way to start, not cool!

Usually people wait until they are at least in double digit posting.

Well done for the sob story though. It's also good that you didn't check the forum for how to get permissions. If you had, you may have come across this.

Also, as UrbanFly said, try going with an air rifle first, then working up from there.

Would you let someone you've never met, with a shotgun, turn up on your land and shoot it off?

Keep trying. If you quit, farmers will think you're a flake, unreliable, and weak.

Worst of all, I used to live in Warrington (Stockton Heath...yeah I'm a little rich kid) and there is soooooo much land up for shooting on. Your sob story just seems too cheesy for me. If you said "I can't cope with rejection, please help me." you'd get better respect for honesty. My neighbour popped over to a farmer and asked if she could store her boat in his barn over winter. He said yes. Really nice guy. I used to pop rats on his land and rabbits with my friend's 22lr. Got permission first time we asked him.

Out of curiosity, how many times have you asked? Did you dress like a total chav when you asked? Did you use manners and explain how you could benefit his business? Did you show him your insurance and relay the amount of effort you put into the pitch? Or did you just come onto a forum and expect people to take pity on you?

I started off by asking farmers to ferret their land they are more willing to let you on with ferrets and nets then over the years I built up trust the farmers then let me use a shotgun then went onto FAC,so now I have quite abit of shooting over land I aquired it just takes time

      Hi,
I've recently moved to St Neots, Cambridgeshire and looking for an area or a bit of land where the owner requires help with pigeons etc. This is solely for fun and not my full time job.

Please let me know, if you or someone you know would let me shoot a few pigeons/rats for them in this sort of area.

      Many thanks
      Tom

      Morning all

Apologies if this has been covered previously, I have obviously missed it if it has been.
I would just like to ask if anyone has given the A-TEC shot gun silencer a real test on the pigeons ( Full day). If you have can you let me know how it effected your shooting, if at all, or did you get to grips with it quite quick. I would be looking to use standard 32g no6 loads.
The permission we currently shoot is shrinking rapidly due to new housing estates popping up so I am looking at all options with a view to upsetting as few people as possible. I would also be looking to use on Geese if they are OK , and I am aware that they recommend a max load of 43g through the A-TEC.
          Thanks in advance

Hello, I've recently moved to the Norfolk area and was wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction to getting permission to shoot on some local landowners land. I'm from and currently serve in the british army and know how to shoot well with my own kit. I do have some hunting experience and i'm also a BASC member to which comes with insurance. Any help would be appreciated.
