Carraghs Gem 1,675
i often take mine for a run down a very quiet backroad about 9/10pm at night... prefer it that way.. its a popular dog walking spot during the day and about 1/3 of it is offroad down a dirt track through bog and forestry... thinking of getting a reflective strip fer the dogs collar Quote Link to post
Kemperz21 65
Throw a stick in the nearest bit of sea. Wish I could got loads of beaches within 10 or 20min from me but think it's the holiday capital for the traveling midlanders ;-) on a serious note though my beaches are either closed to dogs packed with holiday makers or too many other dog walkers had a couple near misses with yapy toy dogs mine don't take kindly to them annoying him Quote Link to post
mushroom 12,999
It's a pain in the arse here with the heat in summer... But as said lot's of water play, early and late walks (although it's still hotter than Jimmy in a playground in the evening) there's a river a couple of miles from me, the sea is even closer but only allowed on the cnut with dogs in winter. TBH I just took the dog everywhere with me and made sure we did a very long (but chilled) walk in the mountains early morning once a week. Another way is the skates for road work and let the bugger pull you lol again early morning. Quote Link to post

Ideation 8,216
Why does the dog need to be fighting fit in June / July? I take my rabble out for an hour or so each evening just before dark, they have a mooch around and chase a few bunnys. . . . . that's enough for me and them. 1 Quote Link to post

Tiny 7 1,694
Best to let them loosen up and put weight on in the summer months. Keep a sensible baseline fitness bit of corn hunting walk in the evenings while cool for an hour not serious 2 Quote Link to post
C556 351
0330 run on the bike when it's nice and cool, doing a mixture of sprints, medium and long distance running covering three mornings each week. Afternoons it's just an easy stroll or some pulling. Quote Link to post
