Accip74 7,112
I said it before the premier league may produce weekly excitement for fans watching world class players from around the globe but this has a high cost of home grown talent which results in us turning out an average world and euro cup squad. Rooney may be some Demi god to some in the UK but on the world stage he's average at best The team as a whole is average at best...........the funny thing is, we still get exited when they play 20mins of half decent football & no result......... CBdogsA1 420
its all well and good slating england other than bale /ramsey who in the british isles would get in that team the spl won by average champoinship players in a one horse race bird hes been one over rated player but lets be real here were years behind germany argies etc and a load of others but we did see tonight what a world class striker can do 2 chances 2 goals and only half fit rooneys never in he same class moyes got it right when he said he believes his own hype spot on pal it's like Scotland or Wales going on about our cricket team lol lets see you do better lol I think you may find the comments are banter, pure banter and not a dig at English fans. What most can't stand are the TV pundits, reporters, media etc that think the England team have the god given right to be the best and keep putting them on a pedestal. As was said British footballers are sooooo far behind. Bring back the 3 foreigner rule, oh wait, we can't, cos then the money won't pour in for the clubs to feed off. What is more important to the F.A, being wealthy or having a better national team. Us Scots know our team is poor as do our media, so a win for us is a bonus. If any of this makes sense, you are as pissed as me !! reading back like i said to r m it sounds like sour grapes and it wasnt meant to be may be to many and yes money has ruined the game and epl need to look at germany holland and a few others how they produce world class players and england doesnt the only one from theses waters i can think of is bale and a major investment in kids and academys is whats needed like the germanys etc did the media are alot to blame for building up a team thats not good enough because most fans know were not i didnt mean any offence towards anyone There was no offence taken it just happened that your post gave me the chance to post what I was thinking
bracken boy 584
Seeker you rant on about rooney as all do because most hate him and slate him, 11 men on the park and roo gets it, gerrard has been woeful but nowy gets said funny that.. Fact is we are not enough as a unit, when we do get results its down to one touch of brilliance or freekick, midfielders have played far too deep. CBdogsA1 420
It's funny how at under 21 and even more so at youth level Scotland and England compete at the highest level and always show a good account of themselves. Two or three years on most of these players dissapear into the back ground, I don't need to explain why. My cousin signed for Rangers when he was 16, banged in goals for the reserves on a regular basis. Played for Scotland in the youth world cup, played in every game until the final and was dropped, why ? because the coaches pet got the nod for the final. They were a very good side and hardly any of them got a chance at the big time. It would be frightening how many very good players get lost in the system. Me and a mate managed a boys team for 3 small villages with nothing for kids to go to. Got them at 9 years old, trained for a year then joined a regional league. First year 2nd place Second year 1st Third year 2nd and won a major 5 a-side tourney Fourth year 2nd This was all done with the same boys, keeping them together and not allowing them to punt the ball, all pass and move. At the end of that season we bothe received a letter from the SFA stating we MUST go for our training badges, 2 week course ( off work ) payed by ourselves at a few hundred pounds. There is now no team and the 5 most promising players don't play at all. Only 3 boys out of 18 play. Way to go SFA. Ah thats better.

Ah thats better. level 1 is a 6-8 hour course costs 40 quid that should of been enough for what you were doing ,,, I did my uefa b licence on a part time course ...do the sfa not do the pathway starts you at the lowest level then takes you through if you want -----but I don't think here to manage u16s you need more than the basic level. Uraguay 2 - population 3 million England 1 - population 55 million.

phantomflanflinger 24
The population stats has nothing to do with englands lack of tech it stems from their youth coaching we try to produce players for the prem big strong fast tech is not in the fa traing book flare has been rooted out are natonal side will only decline while the current system is in place The grass root coaching Is to blame rooney had skill and flare it has been taken away from him, the differance beetween english and the imported talent is they are the finished model when they arrive , we lack in every position. Dont blame woy for decades of clowns running are national sports coaching. Blame the suits

blackmaggie 3,376
look at ajax youth set up there trained to play with speed flair and offensive minded system from the start there formation and style of play is the same from young kids right through to the first team so when they do play for the first team its a system they know inside out and its much the same system has the dutch play and it must work when you produce players like van basten rijkaar berkamp and many others they invest so much in to youth but here we play players out of postion when theres players whos postion that his so many different systems then you got the prem teams wanting the finished article and when so muchs money at stake and the owners are super rich there going to buy in

walshie 2,804
I'm as patritotic as they come in everything except the England football team. Backing them is just lining yourself up for disappointment year after year. When they DO actually beat some deadbeat no-hope third world country in a friendly, they are unbearable and all the "We're gonna win the world cup" starts. When they have to put their considerable money where their mouths are, they aren't up to it. I think the very fact we have to go back to before man landed on the moon since they last won the world cup speaks volumes. Now we're going to have photos of them all crying like girls. Fannies.
