rifleshooter 0
Factory ammo is expensive that is why i reload ,the initial outlay is a bit costly, but you can buy cheap starter kits,i can get over 200 rounds for arround £70,so worth it in the long run, plus i now use a 223 ackley so home loading is needed Quote Link to post
Guest Macnas
That's something I've noticed of late, ammo in the UK is more expensive than here. I'm not 100% sure, but I think the fed. premium v-shock go for 25 euro here, which works out at about 17 sterling. Quote Link to post

Winchester 6
You wont be sorry if you do start as your groups will be better than any factory ammo made just a little tip keep all your shot brass as this is fire formed to your chamber and can be reloaded good luck Quote Link to post
Deker 3,478
Peter Lawman (Peter L) or TFSA (Andy Allwood) or Black-Powder (Peter Starley) ...look them up on the web...you will be pleased you did! I just paid £16 per 100 for 62g 5.56/223. At 200 yards grouping is about 1 inch worse than Rem/Federal but unless you are into serious competition who cares. They all charge about the same and ammo tends to be Barnaul or Wolf (both Russian) Oh yes....they all sell a lot more than just 223. Deker Quote Link to post

Deker hi Deker can you put up their sites please W.D Peterlawman.co.uk TFSA.co.uk Black-powder.co.uk (Midwayuk.com) Peter lawman and TFSA sites are easy to see ammo prices on. If you are struggling with Black Powder just give Peter a call, I bought a few hundred .223 55g HP Wolf from him 2-3 months back, about £16-£18 per 100 I seem to remember! Tell them all who sent you...I might just get an even better deal next time I buy stuff from them. Cheers Deker Quote Link to post

Deker 3,478
'Deker' thank you for the sites TFSA.co.uk Black-powder.co.uk (Midwayuk.com) W.D These guys are all good blokes, I have bought stuff from all of them, fortunately Andy is only about 10 miles from me but I see him a lot at Bisley anyway. If you have a decent "buy" and "hold" on your certificate it is worth travelling to see some of them as their ammo prices can save you a fortune. Deker Quote Link to post
Guest JohnGalway
12 Euro Federal hollow point stuff for me (£8.60) for a box of 20 .223 rounds, works well in my rifle. Quote Link to post
Deker 3,478
12 Euro Federal hollow point stuff for me (£8.60) for a box of 20 .223 rounds, works well in my rifle. Thats a good price for that stuff, costs me about £60 per 100. I'm using Wolf 55gHP at the moment and whilst I accept and agree grouping is about 1" worse with this stuff at 200yards it costs me £18 per 100! Barnaul 62gFMJ is about an inch off at 200yards as well but that costs me £14-£16 per 100. Wolf is an American company but both their ammo and Barnaul are made in the same factory in Russia, both are true .223REM as well, and not 5.56 military. Fortunately they both still shoot well for me, I won an internal shooting club competition at Bisley last time out with the Barnaul, everyone else was using quality expensive ammo!!! One of the reasons why, at that price, I simply can't be bothered with reloading! Deker Quote Link to post
