Allan.A 27
I'm sure this will have been done to death but .... In the next couple of years I can see my free time/ hunting time changing for the better quite a bit. Because if this I will have quite a few jobs for a spaniel from flushing game for gun, hawk and lurcher to retrieveing from a pigeon hide to picking up on a large shoot. So I want the most capable and especially versatile spaniel. Please feel free to put forward your opinions on breeds, bloodlines, reasons and breeders. Thanks for reading Quote Link to post

Mochastorm 68
Springer. There are plenty of good dogs around. The only way to trace 'good bloodlines' is through the Field Triallers. However most shoots will have someone working dogs that you can observe working. These are often the people to assist you. The other more obvious way is to contact a reputable gundog trainer who will always have the necessary contacts to source you the dog you want. Occasionally adult dogs who have not quite made the grade, or lack something for a trialler can become available. Best of luck. Quote Link to post
