Stopping Dogs Attacking Yours

So now in asking to those who have reported a attack, why isnt the police or warden following up on these incidents in your view???

My collie got attacked a couple of weeks ago when my mom was walking her for me. They came out of the local woods & a staffie ran over the path and locked onto her, then started ragging her as she screamed in pain. The dickhead of an owner grabbed his dog, pulled it off mine eventually, and then legged it, leaving my mom (who was going mental by now) with a bleeding & screaming/crying dog and her own spaniel who was going apeshit.

She phoned the coppers afterwards and they said that because both dogs were off the lead, there's nothing they can do, but the staffie should be kept leaded & muzzled from now on. It'd help if the selfish prick of an owner had stuck around to help fix what his poorly trained dog had done (£100 vet bill & £20 of flowers from me to mom).

 

Puncture holes in her side, which thankfully missed anything vital. Still bloody fuming.

Theirs a women who walks a rotty on a pink collar and lead round mi e, all i ever get when it comes near my dog is "ooo she just wants to play". Yah am sure the dog thats chased mine a number of times off the field lunging and snarling just wants to play. I carry my old epipen with me and have inform mrs pink collar it comes near mine again this will be used on her dog!! Not seen her for abit since :-)

 

and dont get me started on summer walkers and their snapping walking handbag dogs!!! If mines on a lead and they come at her and she grabs them, sorry its your fault !!

 

if all else fails in times of need theres always homemade mace;-)

Whether that means it's on lead or not,my first reaction is usually to let my lurcher off his lead and he runs away.

Remember this mouthy rat thing came running at and barking towards my Stafford. Tied my dog onto a rail and picked the rat up to spare its life. Breaking stick fell out my jeans and woman was very apologetic and asked what's that on the floor. Just knew most people would see my dog in a bad light if I explained what it is. Told her its for stopping the vampires lol. She looked at me abit unsure and handed it to me. Managed to keep a straight face, pissed myself when I got home and told my mum. She not only kept her rat on the lead but walked the other way when she saw me lol.

 

Funny how when I used to have a staff I never had alot of problems. Now I've got a french bulldog every prat wants to let their dogs come running over. Some is just poor recall but got my suspicion one c**t let his mutt off on purpose. Picked the frenchie up and was gonna grab his dogs collar with my other hand, expecting it to be your typical friendly staff. Thing growled at me lol of me abit worried so just shouted get your f***ing dog before I stab it. Came running over and was told to keep the f***ing thing away from mine.

 

Only good thing with owning a french bulldog is the views I get lol. Amount of birds who bend down to stroke the cute dog haha should invest myself in a pair of those google glasses ill have some blinding shots.

Yeh mate, she's OK now, all healed up. I got her out again 2 days later, just on the lead at first for a gentle walk, and tried her around other dogs as I didn't want her getting socialisation problems because of it. She acted like nowt had happened & got on and played, which was all good.

It just p*ssed me off rotten that the idiot owner of the other dog didn't stick around to help or even give my mom his number to call after the vets. It seems like the decent thing to do, considering what his dog had just done with no provocation. I'll find him though, and the rozzers have said to bring a private prosecution to get the vet fees back.

Glad she is healed and it's not affected her and your mum is also ok, don't think I would have your restraint if I found the fella! Especially if the dog was with my mum as well. Decency does not seem to be common any more, some of these with dogs use them as status symbols and either don't realise or care what the dog can do. Or they stick a nappy on the dog and think it's ok for it to act aggressively towards other dogs. Hope you do find him though and get some justice

Aside from not walking where or when they walk,how do you do it?

I had police at the door a few hours ago because about 2 months ago a lab attacked my lurcher leaving a graze were the fur still hasn't grown back.

I tried to grab the dog by the scruff to get it off and it mouthed my arm so I kicked and apparently injured it

They've also put a complaint in for threatening behaviour and apparently there are witnesses,all I actually said was 'keep your dog on a lead if you can't control it'.

So the moral of the story is let dickheads fat mutts maul your well looked after and well trained dogs or you'll probably end up in court.

 

I cant believe the owner of the lab would risk raising a complaint when their dog went for you, all it would need I would have though was a counter claim that the dog went for you/you feared for your life etc and I would have though their dog would be on borrowed time.

 

I had almost the exact thing last week where an off the lead collie tried to bite my dog, got a kick and then turned on me. The threads got me worried now lol

It's mad that because people have their dogs off lead they're fair game for other aggressive dogs,but humans can't even defend ourselves or dogs.
