they had a good go, and the young players done well , I never thought we would beat Italy as I said before on here, but was surprised they done ok .If they play like they did to night on Thursday there a good chance they could win . Regards Baines + Rooney , your right on baines he never crossed the ball once with one movement down the wing, stopped to pass the ball there for was tackled straight away , it cut him out of the game .Rooney I don't think will ever score him self , but is good at play maker role which how we got our goal.If he can keep doing that we might get through this group

If we do get through It's just delaying the inevitable I'm afraid, we are just not good enough to compete competitively on the world stage its that simple.

How much is Rooney paid per week and delivered what exactly for England? IMO the big premiership clubs import too many foreign players rather than developing how grown talent and this is and has been the consequence of "big money" in the game.

 

I dearly hope they are successful, I used to be much more positive but the last world cup left such a bitter taste it's been hard to wash it out..

England played well yes, but Italy's one touch passing was simply a joy to watch they used nearly all 2/3rd of the pitch and were denied by the woodwork twice and had one cleared of the line whereas England where exciting surging forward but never really troubled the goalkeeper at all, a fair result IMO.

Sterling should be playing on wing and let him cut in when he likes and pkay rooney just behind sturridge and if you cant do that drop him and play another winger, 40 goals for your country shoukdnt get you a winger defender slot, pathetic, barkley in for henderson roo in hole sterling on wing.
