New Shooter Equipment Help

Recommended Posts

Ahh not good then... The only problem with Crieff is that its 113 miles away from me. Not entirely ideal. I "think" there is a gun shop about 25 miles from where I live though so may head over and have a look.

This isnt as easy a decision as I thought it would be!

aye up

go for the 95k I would get the one with the muzzle weight rather than the silencer ,slightly better balanced it shoots lovely and very accurate also a bit lighter if your using it for hunting over the 97 , put a hawke 4x12x50 ao ir scope on top and you are sorted and well under 400 sheets .

as rez says you won't regret it

Just bought one myself, off the cuff to be honest, and its rather superb if I do say so. Twangy, but to be expected. Lovely to hold, point-ability is second to none, even with its bulky weight. Highly recommended. Highly.

I plan on tuning it in the near future, and cant wait to use it...

Looking to stay under about £400 new, all in, including a scope if thats any help

I picked up a HW97 for £230, I already had a £60 scope to add on to it, add a bag for £30 and you are done. No need to go for anything other than HW/AA if you have £400 - you might even get a PCP for that dosh if your are lucky!

If you're thinking about finance, I'd hold out for a while cos you can guarantee someone lol be selling a 97kt for a much better price second hand, and it'll already be bedded in so it won't be quite so twangy as a new one.

Definitely one of the best synthetic stocked rifles out there, it's the rifle of world champions so that should tell you everything. Don't see many winners using lightning's!!!

I'm currently trying out a synthetic walther LGV break barrel and so far it's brilliant, but it's way too early for me to recommend it yet, particularly as they had teething troubles when they first came out. Very similar in handling to a hw95 but pretty much tuned out of the box, so it saves doing major surgery immediately.

Good luck mate, I hope you get the right rifle for you

Thanks mate, I think im settled on the HW97KT. From what im seeing it looks like an all round winner.

Will be picking it up in the next couple of weeks so may add a few pics and my initial thoughts when it comes.

Appreciate all the help lads and if anyone has anything else to add then feel free ;)
