buster gonads 862
No collie in mine tree creeper Beddie bull grey. Not the type you associate with stalking. my beddy whippet gh used to stalk rabbits My 3/4 Whip 1/4 beddy stalks now and again too, more so in daylight though, she also takes very small steps sometimes, more like a cat, i dont find this a fault though as i like to watch all aspects of naturel instinct in a dog, i find it thrilling if iam honest. 1 Quote Link to post
mhopton 807
The flat out over run pisses me off the way I see it the dogs there to catch rabbits any way the dog feels best,as long as it's a catch his job is done it's our job to lamp and decide if it's worth the chance to run the dog so not to put the dog at risk now that's team work in my eyes men ' what you need to remember is your dogs do all the running not you (unless the police n gamekeeper come ) lol 3 Quote Link to post

Allan P 1,149
Only stalk up to squatting rabbits not ones that run, even I can see that would be a massive fault lol. Quote Link to post

Millet 4,497
My pooch don't do it night time and i have never had a one do it.. each to there own but the one's i have seen do it aggravate the life out of me...especialy when there is large number on the ground as on average you will use twice as much battery power on one run which can be a waste of time if the dog is not upon them pretty quick in certain area's ie hedge's/fence's and wall's..it's also a bad point if you are somewhere you should not be.. . my favourite type of lamping is when the dog run's the beam in and attempt to scoop them up out the seat..less energy required and the night can go on longer that way..so for me once that dog is slipped it has to do what it is bred to do and run.. .. Now daytime is a different ball game.. but that's a differet story.. Quote Link to post
Tiny 7 1,694
Exactly.... lamps on all night, your stood there in freezeing horizontal rain and funny bollocks is stood there at 2 in the morning like a fcking statue looking at a squatted rabbit waiting to take half a step... while your stood eyes squinted trying to hiss the fcker on fck that! 3 Quote Link to post
Allan P 1,149
Tiny 7 how many squatters do you see when your out? Quote Link to post
Tiny 7 1,694
Obviously it changes every time your out green rabbits lamped rabbits weather even what part of the season. But lets just say more than a few and to many to have a stalker round me 1 Quote Link to post
Millet 4,497
If i went out with a stalker or stalker's Tiny i think i would of pulled my hair out in the beggining of the season when you can get in excess of 40/50 sitter's..the battery would be fooked in a couple of hour's.. Allan P 1,149
It doesn't really matter if they stalk or not just boils down to getting out there and giving the dog a go, and sometimes it brings a smile to your face. 1 Quote Link to post
