Guest vin
What sort of bag are you expecting Vin? Its all down to the winner really matey. We will tailor the day/night to how ever they want it. It will be on good ground with plenty bunnies. PS..If any of you did win..what would you expect ? how would you describe your perfect trip out if it was your day. . . ? Mine is simples... Big breakfast... steady walk and mooch for some marks and occupied warrens. ferrets in,no nets bolting to the dogs up until dinnertime..quick stop off for drinks and sandwiches etc etc.. back to bolting for the dogs and walking up the reed beds bushing a few up with the dogs up until late afternoon..back to base camp, sort rabbits out and feed dogs a light meal. . . then have a little break in pub or at chippy having some Tea..then as soon as it gets dark head back out for a lamping session. . . when man and dogs is tired..back to van for a brew and feed dogs. . . followed by a very long journey home which is sometime the 1st chance you get to recount and realize what you have just done..Because whilst your doing it,Its hard to take it all in at once. ..its all happening to fast...lol. Mustelid 143
Sounds good Vin. It's a great opportunity for a dog to see a number of rabbits and have a chance of catching them... a change to ferreting under blackthorn hedges! Quote Link to post

trigger2 3,211
i took my 11 year old nephew for a day out up the dales with Tomo and vin. made my sister give him the day off school as it was a opertunity that he might never be able to take again. we had a cracking day, at one point i was along side Tomo doing different warrens going across the top of a field me and the boy were netting up every hole and ferreting properly so as i could show the boy full on ferreting. Tomo was netting a few holes on each warren and bolting to his dog which again was another aspect of ferreting for the lad to see and keep him entertained. i showed my sister how much lot 48 has fetched so far just to put into perspective what Tomo and vin had given her so. great day with plenty of bunnies. i aint going to say how many as i wouldnt want to get someones hopes up to much. Phil Lloyd 10,738
Would only echo what Trigger has said... The Dales are a unique area of the UK... For a keen rabbiting enthusiast,..some parts rate pretty darn close, to Shangri La.. It goes without saying, that in order to maximise a hunting man's day or night out, in a strange area,..you really do need guides who know the land..and this is what you are getting.. Localised knowledge is paramount, or you can waste a whole lot of time and energy, searching for that special bit of ground..For this reason alone,...the magnificent prize that the lads have offered, is made all the more valuable. My advice would be,..if you fancy a trip of a lifetime,.to a fabulous place that you might never walk over again,...then dig deep.... When you finaly shuffle off this mortal coil,...you cannot take money with you,..but your treasured memories will live forever..... All the best to the successful bidder...
