the keyfob wouldn't open the doors this morning, been working fine right upto lunchtime today, managed to get it to open by just pressing the fob, why it opened I don't know coz I'd pressed it 30+time upto then and nothing,, got it home and by chance we had a battery, but now it only opens and shuts if you hold it with 2 hands a press firmly, and you have to be right beside it, wheras before you could be 20yds away, any ideas chaps

you new battery might actualy be an old ish one thats been sat in the junk draw... try another

 

also look at the contacts and make sure they conect to the battery with no corosion on them

ive already got an l200 mate, as soon as I find an ifor Williams canopy for it the disco is gone, apparently its sommat to do with a chip,in the key coz the c**t wouldn't start today.....

local ifor Williams agent is wanting £470+vat (6week delivery) or £545+vat (1 week delivery), well they can f**k off, only trouble is second hand one are like rocking horse shit.

I had similar problems with the same model.

 

The reciever for the fob is mounted in the roof near the sun roofs and if you have any issues with water ingress around the sunroofs there is apossibility this is defective or not earthing correctly.

 

Only problem is accessing it as it requires the head lining to come out.

 

It is changeable item and does not require tuning to ecu unit.

 

Try placing key up near the sun roof and mine unlocked every time.
