Matthew Phillips 36
So i've got myself a second hand harris bipod. It's marked as 25s. The only thing i can't figure out is what's the bit at the back for. It's shown in the bottom right of this photo: It's on the same axis as the swivel function but it can't seem to twist it either way... is it meant to clamp to prevent the rifle from tilting? Seems to be jammed in place maybe? Thanks Quote Link to post
walshie 2,804
It should move. Squirt some WD40 on it. You're correct. It's for tightening up the tilt. Quote Link to post
Matthew Phillips 36
Nice, that's sorted it. It was fully wound out so tight against the retaining nut. By turning it inwards, tightening it clockwise, it loosened up and can now lock the swivel function in place. Cheers 1 Quote Link to post
FreshFace 2
Matt, the S after the 25 stands for swivel as the guys have already said. You can purchase an item call a podlock which replaces the nut and allows you to adjust the amount of friction you get on the the swivel, so you can set it up as you require but can easily adjust should you want more or less resistance.
