Accuracy Of The Red B&f Box

Recommended Posts

I got the new bellman and flint box last year and would like to know if anybody else has problems with its accuracy as more times than enough i have dug in to the side of the run or even past. I then borrowed the pieps box and worked out spot on every time.

For the price i had expected better.

I've just bought this new setup this week and hope it's spot on for the price. Was considering the pieps box with rechargeable collar but went for the new box

My pals use it with no probs and I've used it too but again read a few reviews stating the above..

The pieps box can be sometimes out a small bit the closer you get to the dog it can give the same reading in various locations which is slightly annoying but used along side a t bar you should never miss a dog itll usually only be a matter of inches. Too be honest it suits me down to ground and everyone gets used to their own individual box how exact do we really need it.Its not a bad thing to occasionly use your brain as well as the box. To much accuracy would take alot of the fun out of it for some as seeing it would only be a matter of inches.

It is good to use the old brain once in a while..its because of how regular that it happens and price of the thing...still wouldnt be without it on large fox burrows as it does save a lot of time.. cant allways depend on my terriers to make noise..lol

Iv used pieps and new box and can't fault either to be honest. ..We always carry a t bar for piece of mind and the bar also allows some air in.

If the holes big enough a couple inches shouldn't mean you have to trench on if the dogs up tight where it's supposed to be...

I prefer the pieps but only due to size. .Both used correctly will locate your dog.

How ever did we manage years ago,I'll tell you ,a t bar and your ears and a dog wth a good voice, and when you were sure the game was bottled up then you dug, gave your dog time to work, dug a big enough hole to work in,and got on,the b&f locators are a good thing nowadays and locators have changed terrier work .

very true, there's pros n cons on both although I always prefare the boxes, but I think it's created a more hardier terrier type nowadays who wants to mix it more. Bayers any day for me
