bigmac 97kt 13,806
Same as last time ill do a short wright up then put the photos up and daz will do his wright up . Well here go,s i was supposed to meet them at the new perm(Daz39 and Matt Smith ) at 12pm but fell asleep and did not get there until 1,30 ish when i got there i was still half asleep i scoped in and Daz and matt turned up Daz had got three and Matt one . So off i went around the site once then twice and nothing doing so headed to the car by the time you have walked this site twice (it takes some time ) it was getting day light and when i got back to the car and changed rifles WAIT FOR IT to the scorpion tac,t10 innnnnnnnnnnnnnn 177 and MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE A 22 man set the zero to 30 yards and off i went. On this site they have a smoking area so i sat down and lit my fag and just then two rabbits popped out at about 40 yards so i went prone and lined the shot up well ill see how good these 177,s are and i let a 177 jsb exact go and FECK ME it just lay down and went to sleep no jump no back flip nothing just rolled over and went to sleep . I then walked a bit further down and saw two run for cover so i lay,ed up and one popped back out at about 30 yards and another was sent on its way same as before it just lay down but this time it jumped back up and ran into the school field and lay down there i checked it through my scopes and could see its head with a clean hole in it. Now this school field and the perm are next to each other and a great big bloody fence runs down the middle and all the way round so i could not retrieve it gutted i went back to the car and told security who are going to tell the school care taker to get it before the kids see it. Once again lads we can only shoot on this perm at certain times due to the school and others that may be around so no need to say eny thing to the mods and the fence is alarmed all the way round so no one can climb over so no public around, So i got two rabbits and two pigeons at good distances and one jack daw and im well impressed with this rifle and the accuracy of it and its a 177 still cant get my head around it but i know one thing its a keeper and i may be a 177 man from now on meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee a 22 man atvbmac  7 Quote Link to post

Daz39 962
The original plan for Friday night/Sat morning was to meet up at 4;30am, then Mac said, can we do earlier, then Matt said, earlier still, then before I know it, I'm hardly home from work before I'm out of the door to meet the lads at my new perm. I turn up just before midnight (because that is more evil..mwahahahaha) and Matt just after. I'd emailed, texted and called Mac to tell him 12 not 1am but after we scoped up, still no sign of Mac, so off Matt and I went....with a security guard escort just so we had someone to make some noise.... We were hardly 50 yards from the security house when I spotted the first rabbit, off I go, get to around 25 yards and I start to go prone, I hate shooting with an audience, unless that audience is one of the lads, regardless I'm getting ready to shoot when a frickin' chopper comes over and scares the rabbit off. Helecopters? Its Newcastle not Vietnam!!! One off the hook! As we move round, its apparent that despite Matt and I whispering, Mr Toy Policeman is not getting the hint and having a rare old chat "Yeah I have a huge scare on me big toe where I nearly shot it off with a .22".....riiiiiiiiiiiiiight. I or Matt spot a rabbit and try to hush Mr up, Matt stalks a few yards, goes prone and takes a nice head shot, the rabbit flipped and we didn't see where it went, however, later on during the night, we found a dead rabbit just about in this spot so Matt claimed it. We walk a little further round and I see 3 on a lawn near the unloading doc, I start to stalk and the rabbits hop a few yards so I decided to take a kneeling shot, pop and down he goes without a twitch. A little further on Matt went one way and me another. I see 2 rabbits run under a portacabin so I go to one end, lay down and see them at the far end, maybe 15 - 20 yrds. I can't get into a position to shoot right handed, so I actually look through my left eye and take a shot left handed and drop the rabbit right away...under the portacabin...not sure how much of a great idea that was. I whistle Matt over and between me, him and a long plank of wood, we manage to get the rabbit from underneath. We got back to the car park and still no sign of Mac, we are now taking bets on him being asleep or having had a better offer....nudge nudge. On our second trip round Matt gets a rabbit from 25 yards at the back of the warehouse, I took another one, though i can't remember how or where, but on getting back after the second walk around, I'm 3 rabbits up, Matt has 1 (he wouldn't get the original until later but at this point he has 2 really) and look who has finally turned up at 1:30am. Mr Mac Mac is flat out scoping up, all I can notice is he's in jeans and I can see his ankles, turns out he has fallen asleep, dreaming he was actually at the perm, wakes up in a flap and jumps in the car and races over. It turns out, hes no socks on, no camo pants and no hunting boots, I was shocked to see he had actualy brought his rifles, including his new Scorpion T10. We all had a little play and I must say it is lovely to shoot, sounds good and has a nice responsive feel. Mac had no lamp on it, so we had to wait until daylight to see it in action. He's already written about his results and the fact he is now in love with 0.177 - its not about the sizes boys, its about how you use it! Sadly by this time (2am) the rabbits had pretty much gone to bed, and stayed there for the night. The first time we went to the perm, 3:30pm - 1am we were shooting and the rabbits were all out, I had seen them at 10am when I walked the site the first time, but it looks like these boys are NOT night feeders. We did persist and walked the site multiple times, each of us now happy to wander off to our own corner to see what we could pick up. The sun was up by 3:30am. The site HSE guy had asked me to focus on 2 areas, one for rabbits and one for pigeons. So Mac spent most of the time on a bird hunt. I know Matt got 2 rabbits and a couple of pigeons I think, Mac 2 rabbits a couple of pigeons and a couple of crows. I shot 4 rabbits, 3 pigeons (none of which I could retrieve as they were all on the roof) and 6 crows (ALL of which I COULD retrieve but really didn't want to). It was another good night, though by 9am we were all flagging. I truely thought pulling an all nighter after a full days work would be ok, but man I "lost" Saturday, exhausted. As usual the craic more than made up for the lack of rabbits, "pellet-gate" and "air-gate" were funnier than they sound in writing. The security boys let us use the fridge and brew up whenever we like so it really is a sweat perm. We just need to go during the day and not at night. The rabbits were still out at midnight, and started to come out again around 9am. We'll get 'em next time. I forgot to ask Matt, how many out of 21 did you get on the security induction? It looked like you slept through the presentation section haha. Cheers for another good night lads! 1 Quote Link to post
