Young Bitch Destroying Kennel

Recommended Posts

Give her some green willow branches to chew on: good for their teeth and gums, non toxic, easily replaceable. Kennel dogs are often bored out of their minds: do her regular walks involve a decent amount of galloping/free running, chasing things: not necessarily game, but balls etc? Satisfying their prey drive on a regular basis means the dog will be far more relaxed and calm at home. Lead walking is one of the most frustrating things for a dog, so they do need free running every day.

My bitch is 7 and has just started chewing. Never done it before even as a pup? She's out every day all day with me, rides or mainly runs by the quad, tractor or loader. She gets plenty of work in the season and even a bit of naughty summer hunting. She could always be trusted around food, could leave her with your lunch on the floor no problem. Recently she's destroyed two colleagues lunch boxes and eaten the lot including packets. Nowt so queer as folk, except maybe dogs. Willows a good idea I think I'll try it.

To be fair I had a terrier that pissed in the ear defender of his chainsaw helmet when we were having a brew without us noticing so when he put it on piss ran down his face, so the lunch was a minor thing.

oh I would loved to seen that .

It was freezing cold, wet and we were doing a shitty felling job on a steep slope. He couldn't decide wether to beat the crap out of me, the dog or go home. I still laugh at him about it now. The rule is in our job as long as the other person isn't mortally wounded, point and laugh.
