Improving Vetilation In Dog Truck

Recommended Posts

I have a Carryboy canopy on my new truck, but it has no opening windows, I am thinking of ways to improve ventilation in the hot weather rather than replacing the canopy.

I am thinking the rotary spinner type vents and maybe having a sliding window at the bulk head to replace the current solid glass one?

Does anyone have any advice or done this to there vehicles?

Regards Sirius

James has the same problem mate and he had the top spinning thing but on warm days its useless ... Fitting a window that can be opened is the only way to go mate ........

Yeah mate its a real issue, I think a bulk head window might be best buts there is not much distance between the cab and the canopy but enough to give some air flow I would think.

I was also thinking just take it of and buy a second hand Ifor williams one, plenty of ventilation in them for sure

A bulk head window would be OK if you placed a fan up against it to direct air into the back: I've seen a few done like that. Don't know quite how effective they are, but people with vans and lots of dogs seem to use them when going to shows etc in the summer.

I had a carryboy on my L200 but the 2 back had latches on them that the dogs chewed so I totally removed one of the windows and put mess over it with self tapping screws but even with that it was still too hot at times with all the glasss so have just fitted an I for Williams with the mesh window at front and the mesh rear door ...under £600 fitted ...loads better

use the roof spinney round thing, but cut in a few air vents (sofit vents, see toolstation), you would then get crossed air circulation & fresh air being pulled through. all pending speed of spinney round thing on top.

you can get solar fans cheap, but not sure on how good.

best not cook the dogs as it don't take much.
