If you wont say it Bird I will theres no way a bird that size could kill a fox

prob the gwp hit 1st then the harris hawk , not saying the bird couldn't kill it, but some foxes are tough animals, even for a dog to kill

Look at this I hope this turns out ok I know s**t all about about this subject but here's a photo I came accross

most of if not all the wolves in this vid are bagged and released for the cameras , the kazachs are not noted for being good eagle keepers and most have defects from poor diet and most dont make old age due to a diet of yak meat, flights are mostly down hill as most are to weak and incapable of sustained full on pumping flight, and no man even on the fastest horse could get near a wolf in the wild to sustain a slip atb mc

Hmmm I wouldn't know, I believe those boys out there have been doing it long before cameras and such. . If even if those wolves were bagged before hand, a couple had a good go back. . With the mountainous terrains out, seems plausible to me to ride over a brow, see and "slip" . . I wouldn't argue the point with you, I'm only speaking on what I can see.

Lol the fox in the pic was killed a few days before by a dog , other foxes must of dragged it too the bush behind too munch on the harris simply latched onto the carcass in the bushes , lol mind when the dog killed it few days before the harris attacked fox in cover getting one foot on its head it was lay in scrub tight with few dogs closing in on it, it bolted and she attacked quickly realising she was out her depth she let go and saluki dog took over n killed it

Sorry for wind up lol I have been told its been done single handed by harris and ive no reason too doubt the lad, ive personaly seen em take hold and dogs finish it, not pretty, and imho not something to pursue, eagles the boy for charlie, bowl em over, harris very game bird hence attacking them, and also deer plenty managed that one,

point being she had a go at one few days before n stashed but still had another go lol to be fair they naturally hate dogs being they prey on em in wild

You know what,if I could understand Mongolian I would love to spend a week in there company,it would probably be a holiday of a lifetime, and I can tell you what, you would learn more in a week with them, than a life time in this country, its amazing to see birds used to such a purpose, and to such affect, with an adversary that fought back and didn't just give up,as I said above I know nothing much about this subject, but the skill and dedication behind it is commendable without doubt,

I have seen lots of birds catch lots of things and I have seen a Steppe Eagle catch a fox BUT it didn't kill it. In fact it caught it once let it go, gained some height and bang caught it again. After a struggle let it go and lost a talon. That Eagle weighed 8lb if my memory serves me correctly and apparently they catch foxes.

I have also seen Harris Hawks catch lot of stuff, nothing bigger than a Hare. Not it couldn't be done but I'm pretty doubtful. Maybe a cub or weak specimen.

steppe eagles dont have the footing power to tackle an eagle being mainly rodent killers and scavengers, even a goldie unless trained for the head ,will some times come off injured if the hold is not secured on first contact atb mc
