andy26 618
Just wondering if this might be the cause of my young bitch losing hair on her back legs as she gets quit a bit of it any imfo would be great
alan81 110
no it is not bad for your pup but she needs bone and organ with it, also some finely chopped green veg. % meat 10% bone 10% organ and some veg. a pup should get 5% of its body weight in RAW food per day. I cant see meat causing her to loos hair unless its a protein imbalance or something.

stabba 10,745
5%?? you sure about that. seems alot to me. That would mean a 60lb lurcher would need 3lb of meat a day. I know some are greedy but i'd have thought around the 3% mark meself.

The man said pup...in that case a pup should eat as much as it wants But an adult doesn't need 5% of its bodyweight in food.

alan81 110
yea staba mate I was talking about a pup. An adult dog should get between 3% and 4% of its body weight with the 4% been for a very active dog that's been worked fairly hard. As said it could be that she is coming into heat. See how she go's and a vet will/should have the best advice.
Haggis81 147
I had a bitch that lost hair on back legs every now and again, vet reckons it was a condition called g/hound hair loss disorder that she suffered from due to the amount of g/hound in her make up
