Ferret Kit Size.

Recommended Posts

Hey, my ferret gave birth around 2weeks ago and I've just checked them today, to find that thyr is only one baby... Is that normal? It's her first ever litter and also mine so I'm just trying to make sure... Thanks

They usually have more than one, but it certainly isn't unheard of. A mate of mine's had litters of 2 and 3 and the last litter I bred was 3. Don't worry about it. lf anything, be thankful she didn't have 12 or 13 which would eat you out of house and home.

A young jill will normally have a big litter and as they get older produce less and less , But as its the first time youve checked then you dont know if shes eaten them etc the only give away would of been if you heard loads of squeeking and now you dont mate
