gnasher16 30,281
Too many to list but the most memorable for me were when i was in America mid ,s seeing Lloyd Honeyghan take Don Curry,s title there was only a handful of us all out the same gym......Boza Edwards against Camacho in Miami and my ol mucker Dennis Andries going up against Hearns at the Cobo Hall in Detroit........all memorable because neither fight was there more than a handful of British fans there.......I was one of 9 fans Dennis had against Hearns Was ringside for Bruno/Witherspoon on a totally gutting night.................would love to of been there when Frank beat McCall but was otherwise engaged

I never really used to go to fights unless i knew one of the fighters involved hence the big superfights i was happy to watch on telly like anyone else ......should of seen Ray Mancinis second fight with Bramble but our car broke down on the way ended up sitting at the roadside listening on the radio

gnasher16 30,281
No im not much of a book reader....who/whats it about ? you ever see any Ali fight's gnash ? or meet him.! The ol man took me and my brother to Highbury for the second Cooper fight but i was only 5 or 6 i cant remember anything about it......the trainer Jimmy Tibbs was like a big brother/uncle figure to us and was fighting on the undercard.... he actually sparred a few rounds with Ali just for publicity this is an old photo he gave me. Around 15 years ago while Ali was over here visiting a gym i managed to shake his hand and he whispered something in my ear but i have no idea what he said unfortunately as his speech was none too clever.......and you just dont say " you what mate ? " to The Greatest do you Edited June 3, 2014 by gnasher16

I haven't been to as many 'big' fights as i should have, because unless i was ringside it would be pointless for me i think, i'm a bit obsessive about the technical aspect of the game so would rather be sat at home with a notepad like the weirdo nerd that i am Were you at this fight gnasher by any chance?
gnasher16 30,281
No i wasnt mate though i was ringside when he beat Herol Graham a few years earlier.....i knew Rod Douglas at the time and he was fighting on the undercard and he,d got me tickets,he got a first round ko if memory serves me right.......but yes McCallum was a fantastic technician always looked like he was just plodding along didnt he but his distance and reading of a fight were second to none.......threw a decent body shot as well by all accounts
