Boar Hunting

Recommended Posts

ok, so we have to re-think what we are going to do, as we cant run a proper 'batida' with just 6 folk, on that land. (2 of which are dog-less, another 2 joined last minute). Everything was sorted, including accommodation, and there would have been ample folk willing to take vehicles.

We had a really good looking team, of around 15...all keen as mustard and staying in touch at first, then one by one, 10 of them have disapeared.... well they have been online lol but they never reply to my messages. What can I do, ive chased them enough.

those that remained keen, and have a place are joe, tyla, lee, rob, wales, and mushroom.

Battida Hunts, Aragon, Spain January 2015 November 2015

Biglurks - For the majority of the time, most of the lurchers were off the slip.   I'm being very honest in saying that I doubt many on here would have managed better, given the conditions etc. Ever

Just to add some details.   We have decided no guns will be present, as the days are focused on the dogs. The days will be run like training days, and would suit folk who would like to get their hu

Yeah Im sure you could bring the fam mate, we should plan who wants to take vehicles, I would gladly rent a vehicle for the trip and take a couple of folk.

Im down south for a weekend mid/late november, would be great to get together for a wee rake about and a pint or two perhaps?

I'm up for that mate let me know the date and I'll be there. I looked into renting a crew van after the look on my bosses face when I asked if I could take the company van. The hire firm I tried wanted £500 for 5 days because the vehicle was going abroad might be cheaper somewhere else tho I didn't ring around.

I'm easy either way I'll chip in to renting something or drive in my van but it's only a two seater. I have the option of a landrover but with a top speed of 60mph it would prob take a week to get there that's if I didn't breakdown. Is there a restriction on the number of dogs you can take through the tunnel per vehicle ?

Tyla, I think Jai will be coming, thankfully, Wales has spoken to him recently. So we might have a chance of doing some small drives! I think we will still have a great time, but I will need to confirm that the landowner is still happy to go ahead with less hunters (less income for him) I'd rather not change venue if we can avoid it, as this ground was such a different experience and offers great possibilities. It really changes very dramatically after you cross the mountains, into the desert.

The travel regulations are only in Spain, so if space is limited a dog could be linked to a seatbelt. Travel time from the spanish border in the pyrenees, to the hunting ground, is around 2 hours. But obviously cages/crates are very handy if they fit
