Alsone 789
Good job!.. What a difference in colour what do you think this could be? I wonder is a domesticated rabbit has escaped and inter-bred with the wild ones? I don't know, it's just a guess, but it might explain the difference. Quote Link to post
celticrusader 78
I first thought about the age of them and then thought that maybe it might of been feeding or living in a different area than some of the others...I'm sure there's a reasonable explanation. Quote Link to post

celticrusader 78
Right I've done a bit of homework on this so what i can gather is that most species of rabbit change colour with the seasons according to the environment and depending on and country. Right some theories I have in the very small difference in our country is that as most of ours spend time in warrens which are cooler in the summer and warm in the winter so I think this is why little of it is rarely seen but I think that the ones who are expelled or leave the warrens and live on there lonesome have shed there predominant winter fur which most do seem to keep,as they spend most time away from the safety of the warren and as they fend for themselves this is one idea. Again this is a theory from what I have read and would be interested in someone else's info. Sorry if I've hijacked your thread with this bunnybuster3000. alan81 110
not very common but very real they spend most of there lives above ground and rarely in warrens. Quote Link to post
