the_stig 6,614 Posted May 30, 2014 Report Share Posted May 30, 2014 Mr Gould might be a genius but the terriers I've seen that he has bred has told me one thing they ain't any good but his stories are if you believed them but thanks for the replys lads kens alright..... bred some real good stuff in his day.... and some/most of that stuff was bred tight and still knocking around Ireland/U.K... a few men on here would still keep his old original stuff..... men got dogs directly from ken...... dogs he brought here to get well tried, and tried they were to the hilt!! dogs/bitches stayed here in a few mens yards he trusted and knew would test, he used to be a frequent visitor to Northern Ireland back in late 80s early 90s.... he loved the digging and craic this side of the pond! stayed in many an area were rioting and troubles and so on would have been nightly and he will tell you himself he was shittin himself half the time, And yep like any terrierman that has spent most of his life working terriers he has a lot of stories to tell, and a lot of deep digs to some of his stuff... .a cousin has an entry in his diary from 87' northern ireland, ken was present he brought 2 blacks with him, both dug in style they were 17 months not puppy places either, then they had another 4 digs the same day 1 too a dog ken had already gifted to a man and 3 more too the same russell, nothing to do with kens stuff.... ken travelled far and wide back in the day to prove his stuff were it counted....underground! he was out 4/5 times a week in the days when your dogs could be fully tested.... stop.end 4,079 Posted May 30, 2014 Report Share Posted May 30, 2014 correct you are bd hunter.... and you could live 1 life time keeping terriers but never know,... the true meaning of the very word terrier! then there is the word which would follow after terrier which would be work...terrierwork! many on here keep terriers....but is it really for terrierwork? or too feel as if they fit in? its 2014 i was talking 86-93 ... so if you were talking to ken and out digging with him recently to post this topic... then ken must be at least 75 maybe older! and if im out walking hills and digging selling pups to dubious new comers in the game to pay the oil, .at his age and still quote lines from yester year then thats terrier work hes consistent, then still just like his oul dogs....lol Link to post

They are NOT bred to produce,they wete in my opinion his biggest mistake,hence why you will find next to none of it in his yard today,great animals in their own right but to build a line on was never going to happen. Ken gould has over the years bred some phenoenal foundation dogs,troy and turbo are NOT on that list. Ken has some of his old blood on the yard again now so expect to see better animsls coming out old gouldys yard in the next few years! 4 Link to post
