Im going to join a small local group that nobody seems to have heard of and try my hand at chub fishing - never done it before but I like stalking carp around the lake margins so i reckon it could be my sort of fishing Anyone got any pbs to break? 1 Quote Link to post

Ossie n Arch 1,682
Iv'e just joined Burton Mutual AA. Iv'e been on a walk down the river Dove twice now. Looks very "fishy" I'm after the Barbel and the big Chub. Hoping for a Barbel. A nice double would do to start with. 2 Quote Link to post
jack2o 45
Going for chub on smaller rivers as always summer or winter. Might try surface lures for them this year, always seem to do better with surface baits in summer and it keeps your hook out of most of the weed. anyone used these much for chub? Quote Link to post
NEWKID 27,278
Can't wait, I love fishing the rivers.. The tidal Exe will get some stick, chub, bream, dace and roach.... Then smash a big mullet will hit you and there's not a fish that goes like a mullet on light gear IMO.. Gonna try and get in a few rivers I haven't fished this year too, the wye being top of the list.. Might fish a few matches on the local rivers, not bothered for years as can't be arsed carp waters much, but there's an evening league running local, fancy the odd evening match.. Quote Link to post
